CONSUMER BEWARE! I went to LensCrafters to get contacts. I went through the process of getting fitted and trained on how to use and maintain my contacts. The trial contacts were ordered when I completed my eye exam. I was told it would take 4-5 weeks as my contacts were special order. Approximately two weeks after that I received a call from a store rep who told me there was a problem with ordering the contacts; that they were having a communication problem with the fax machine (really? A fax machine?) so now the order would be delayed in excess of the normal 4-5 weeks. When the contacts finally arrived a few weeks later, I received the contacts training at the store. I was then told I should order a supply of contacts. I was planning to order a 12-month supply, however when they told me that the contacts that I need cost $448.20 for a 6-month supply, I only ordered 6-months. Now I had to wait another 4-5 weeks for my permanent prescription order to arrive. During that time, I was to use the trial pair they ordered. I have never worn contacts before and somehow, about three weeks along, one of the contacts ripped. I called the store and was told that the trial pair was the only pair they ordered; I would have to wait for my permanent order to be delivered. I was going away in two days and really needed to wear my contacts. I was taken aback when they told me that they only ordered one trial pair. One trial pair for a person that has never worn contacts. This just make no sense.
So, now it comes time to re-order the contacts. I ordered the new contacts from a website. The same manufacturer, same contacts, same 4-5 weeks for delivery; only $219.98 for a 6-month supply. I can guess that LensCrafters pays less than I did so that means I was charged over 100% mark up! I personally find this a violation of trust. I expect to pay some markup but over 100% is offensive. So, before I gave a poor review of LensCrafters, I thought I would give them a chance to make things right. I was told by their rep that they are unwilling to do anything about this matter because the 30-day post sale period is over. Keep in mind that I trusted that I was not getting taken advantage of, so I did not feel the necessity to look at the whole picture until long after their 30-day post sale period for complaint's or requests for refunds ended. I will never do business with LensCrafters or anyone associated with them ever again. I recommend that other consumers do the same. Buyer Beware.
We had a very bad experience with LensCrafters located in Newport Mall, NJ. I ordered progressive lens for my husband. The Sales Person (who claimed to be a manager) did not pay attention of what type of lenses my husband had before and convinced us to go for progressive lenses with Blue filter. When the glasses were ready, my husband had a double vision in them and could not read at all. We had to wait one week for an appointment in which we were explained that it was because he had a Varilux lenses before and now he would not be able to use any other lenses except for Varilux, which sounds weird to say the least. It raises the question why we were not informed about it on the first instance. They demanded to pay extra to change lenses to Varilux but now w/o Blue filter. The system was down, so we were not able to pay with the credit card and they were supposed to call us later to process it over the phone. We are still waiting for their phone call. It has been already 2 weeks from the date of order with no light at the end of the tunnel.

I bought my Granddaughters glasses last year from lens crafters. This year she had a bit of change. I wanted the lens switched to her old frames because she liked the.. I asked and they said you won't get the 50% off only 20% if you just get lens. Sooo I asked how much the lens would be, he did a calculation on their computer and came up with over $700 for just lenses. I understand some lenses cost more, Granddaughter has bifocal but very low. Anyway I wasn't happy, so we looked for frames and got a cheaper pair if $89. Then the discount was applied. Then they ask you if you would like insurance for $40, for cracks, breaks and scratches on lens. I did, being a teenager things happen. I was told if you have insurance you still have to pay $25.00 when you bring them in for repair. Wow this is so crazy expensive. I know my glasses have bifocals and all the other add on, my eyes are way worst then Granddaughters and I get a better deal else where. Not even close the the price they charge for lens. I did pay for the glasses because Granddaughter needed them ASAP 7 to 10 days, because of covid and trying to get appointments is very hard. I called around and gave other stores her percription and the lens didn't come close to lens crafters $700 dollar price. This is so outrageous. How do these companies want to rob you blind. Pardon the pun. Won't be going back.
Ordered reading glasses at same time as my wife... she received hers but mine had to be sent back as had a stratch... waiting another 2 weeks then this time the glasses had to be sent back as the prescription was wrong and they also had a scratch... now going on 1 month and finally i got my money back... have dealt with lenscrafters for many years but this time was the worst ever... they still didnt know when they would be in... need a new place to make the glasses... too bad as really liked the frames... will have to find another place... please tighten up the production
I purchased 2 pairs of glass for over $1000 and both glasses have substantial scratching within 3 months. One pair I cant even wear anymore. They blamed me and that I used the wrong cloth to clean them. I have been wearing glasses since 4th grade and I am 54 years old. They told me they would give me 20% off a new pair of lenses that totaled $100 more than my initial pair of frame and lenses. This is total robbery.
What a horrible experience from two LensCrafters store. One in watchung Nj - I got ripped off and swindled by these crafty sales girls. And to top it off my prescription was incorrect; I went to another doctor and they said the prescriptions is C incorrect. I paid $1000 for two sets of glasses with progressives and they suck. Then in a coverup they shipped my glasses to Winter Park Fl so they wouldn’t have to deal with me because they knew they were ripping me off. I hope no one ever uses LensCrafters as the sales associates work on commission so they don’t care about your eye sight. They should be out of business.
Been going to Lens crafters since way back when they started. Was always happy until maybe ten years ago when it noticed after about a year the Lens started peeling. Called and they said the Warranty had expired. Well I had this same experience on 2 more pairs and was told the same thing. Been wearing glasses since 1958 never had this issue before. You do the Math.
I bought prescription glasses in December 2020 and returned them a week later. We are now at April 2021 and I still have not received my refund despite calling them on a weekly basis. This is the craziest thing I have ever been involved with in my 61 years of my life. LesCrafters ha the most ridiculous so called customer service I have ever seen. If I could choose 0 out of 5 stars I would have.
So many things not good here...
1st: they don't give you a full prescription so you can have prescriptions filled on line...they wouldn't give the PD
2: Ordered a pair of bifocal sunglasses...waited for them to arrive...I live 40 miles out...got them in the mail and no shaded lenses...now have to wait two weeks to return them
3. When I called they said they could send me the lenses and did I know someone that could put them in? I asked how I should pay for the service and they replied they didn't know
Pretty poor customer service...on the bright side the prescription is very good
Need a replacement lens for my Oakley. I have one lens that is prescription and one lens that is without prescription. Quotes be a price of $595 for nonprescription replacement lens. Purchased replacement on line for $50. Don't trust these guys.
LensCrafters at Otay Ranch Mall in Chula Vista, has repaired my broken glasses, while I wait, in no time.... Great customer service and beautiful ladies, to assist you... Kudos to "Jasmine" for her great customer service!
Your store at Southlake mall in Indiana has sub par equipment. The optometrist has requested new equipment that you will not provide. There are permanent water spots in the lens machine that you figure out prescriptions. No wonder I cannot see. I have photos of the inferior equipment that you charge good money for
I purchased a pair of glasses about a year in a half ago. Just after a year I noticed light scratches and the coating was coming off. I took them back to the store and the only way I can get them fixed is to PAY for another eye exam, what a scam! I just wanted to get back the glasses I paid for. I am certain I could see better than the employee trying to read my receipt. How is it you spend over 500.00 with all the lens coatings and they only last 1 1/2 years? This is piss poor customer service. I am looking to see if I can get a refund and go somewhere else, maybe I will try small claims court? I complained to corporate. In the 10 days it took them to answer my email I ordered a pair of glasses and received them and they were 155.00 and the quality is much better.
